Introduction to Coaching and Diversity

Virtual live workshop on Thursday 9th June 2022, 3.30-5pm (UK time).

Towards the end of March 2022 Saiyyidah Zaidi delivered ‘A Conversation in Belonging and Understanding’ for the coaching, facilitation, and leadership development communities. A few days later she facilitated a ‘knowledge collaboration’ on belonging partnering with Professor John Swinton, University of Aberdeen, (who is one of ten Chaplains to Queen Elizabeth in Scotland) for at an international conference.

A few key points from these experiential learnings for those on an exploration of coaching and diversity are:

  • Diversity and inclusion start by understanding ourselves and others, by belonging.
  • The relationship between belonging and understanding are interrelated: belonging is needed for understanding, and vice versa.
  • Language definitions are important, and initial conversations that ‘get everyone on the same page’ help to cultivate belonging and understanding.
  • The search for belonging is life long, it is not ‘one and done.’

To celebrate her recent successful PhD defense, Dr Saiyyidah is facilitating an experiential learning session for coaches and facilitators as an 'Introduction to Coaching and Diversity.'

Taking place on Thursday 9th June 2022, 3.30-5pm UK time. For the first time ever, Dr Saiyyidah will share the theory of belonging hypothesised in her research, and how conversation as a method assists with nuanced conversations related to coaching and diversity.

In this session you will discover how to (safely) explore diversity and inclusion within coaching.

We would love to see you there and welcome you to an open experiential learning, in a psychologically safe space.

Then, we'll be ready to have the conversation and meet you where you are. Beginners, those with experience, and those who are a little apprehensive about coaching and diversity are all welcome. Our specialist style of delivery means everyone is psychologically safe on their terms.
