Power of the Pause - with Saiyyidah - sidenote

This side note is about the power of the pause and comes from the conversation with Jesse Harless.

As Jesse and I had a conversation regarding mental health, the business and the speed of life in so many different things,  what really struck me was our discussion around pausing. 

If there's anything that has come out of the experience of the last couple of years, it's the need for being able to stop and reflect.

And, as I wrote in the book RESULTS The Art and Science of Getting It Done, I think there's a really, really significant gain that we can have when we stop, even if it's just for a few seconds, and the process that I outlined in the book is about resting, resetting and recovery.

Rest, reset, recovery. 

Going against out usual need for speed in culture. 

Stillness and silence. 

Pause can be 60 seconds of breathing, a day or longer.
